What Is the Medical Student Section?

The Medical Student Section (MSS) helps shape the future of medicine by giving students from every Texas medical school a voice in TMA and American Medical Association policymaking. Students serve in slotted seats on boards, councils, and committees and have voting representation in TMA’s House of Delegates and Board of Trustees. Members also are actively involved in their TMA-MSS school chapters and their county medical societies.

• The Texas Medical Association Medical Student Section (TMA-MSS) Executive Council is elected annually, to a one-year term, to direct the activities of the section at the state level.

• Be appointed to a TMA Board, Council or Committee.
