  • Turning Good Ideas Into Better Health

TMA Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, is the philanthropic arm of TMA. It is the only philanthropy in Texas dedicated to the charitable concerns of all physicians. TMAF’s mission is to "fund initiatives with the power to help physicians create a healthier future for all Texans." TMA projects funded by TMAF are selected on their ability to target urgent health needs affecting a large segment of the state's residents with results that can be measured. Projects often involve public-private collaborations, which maximize the effectiveness of programs and enable efforts to be tailored to meet local needs.  Learn more about TMA Foundation

Because health fairs and similar community events still aren’t a safe option right due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, TMA's Hard Hats for Little Heads bicycle helmet giveaway program will take a hiatus through May 2021. The TMA Council on Health Promotion will reevaluate the COVID-19 environment relative to HHLH to determine if it is safe to resume. TMA Foundation continues to raise funds to be prepared for this possible resumption of activities in the second half of 2021. Your donation will help insure the program hits the ground running, so please make your secure online donation today.

  • NEW Law Effective Jan. 1, 2020 on Giving From an IRA

    planning

TMA Foundation is qualified to accept “qualified charitable distributions” from an IRA. If you’re 70 and 1/2 or older, an IRA “qualified charitable distribution” or QCD enables you to support the work of TMAF without tapping into other income you need for daily and monthly needs. It also can help you starting at age 72 when you must take your required minimum distribution because QCDs of up to $100,000 in a year may be excluded from taxable income. Read more about the NEW law and how you and TMAF can benefit from this method of donating.
