A properly fitting helmet can prevent almost all head injuries – up to 85%. With growing concern over childhood obesity, the Hard Hats program promotes fun exercise, and teaches parents and children the importance of wearing a properly fitted helmet.
In bike crashes, head injury causes more deaths and serious disability than any other injury. Wearing a bicycle helmet that fits properly can prevent nearly all head injuries.
Hard Hats provides a hands-on way to encourage your patients and community to exercise safely. Members of the TMA Family – physicians, county medical societies, and medical student and local alliance chapters – can host helmet giveaway events in their communities. Medical family hosts are invited to collaborate with community organizations on events.
