The national public health emergency related to COVID-19 has been extended for another 90 days, the federal Health and Human Services Department has announced. TMA experts say the extension allows the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to maintain several COVID-19-related waivers and flexibilities.
If you’ve enrolled to administer COVID-19 vaccines with the Texas Department of State Health Services, you can now order up to 50 vaccine record cards from the agency with a simple email.
The Food and Drug Administration has updated information about the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to warn of increased risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome. According to the new warning, reports of adverse events following use of the vaccine “suggest an increased risk” of the rare neurological disorder during the 42 days after vaccination.
Now that COVID-19 vaccines are coursing through millions of bloodstreams, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has relaxed some of its recommendations on masking, it might be difficult for you to keep track of the current state of face coverings – and how it affects your practice.
Are you getting frequently asked questions from patients about the COVID-19 vaccines? The Texas Medical Association has created a series of shareable social media graphics to help you answer those questions.
