Immerse Yourself in Telehealth With New AMA Program
By Joey Berlin

Building on the recent work of its Telehealth Initiative collaboration with the Texas Medical Association and others, the American Medical Association is offering physicians more guidance on how to create a telehealth foundation in their practice.

AMA’s Telehealth Immersion Program will feature interactive peer-to-peer learning sessions, webinars, on-demand resources, and virtual discussions and boot camps. AMA says the program will offer “foundational information surrounding the telehealth landscape and offer deep dives into aspects of telehealth” that include:

  • Clinical best practices;
  • Integration with other health care technologies;
  • How to scale and sustain telehealth in your practice; and
  • Opportunities to expand virtual care.

The program also explores the challenges related to telehealth, including technology access and digital literacy. AMA says the program will allow participants to create a comprehensive plan to implement or scale telehealth, including planning for sustainability beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
