For Five Decades, Texas Physicians Have Helped Care for Physicians

As physicians, you are trained to protect and care for the well-being of your community, but sometimes your colleagues need care, too.

Since 1961, the Texas Medical Association’s Physicians Benevolent Fund has provided assistance to Texas physicians and their families who have fallen on hard times because of poverty, sickness, disability, accident, or other circumstances. The fund continues to help qualified applicants in financial distress with basic household necessities.

Beginning this year, the newly established PBF Wellness Fund is available for qualified physicians who cannot afford treatment for depression, substance-abuse disorders, or other impairments. Assistance is also available for short-term living expenses for families while the physician receives treatment.

All applicants must complete a confidential questionnaire. If you need financial assistance, or know of a physician or physician’s family in need, contact the Physicians Benevolent Fund today.

Contributions from physicians and their spouses have helped to keep the fund alive. Regular donations from physicians like you ensure continued assistance for those in need. Contributions are tax-deductible, and may be in the form of honoraria or memorials.

To make a difference in a colleague’s life, text CARING to 56512 to make your tax-deductible donation today. Or, visit the Physicians Benevolent Fund website or send a check to:
