Why do you think the WPS is important?
The Women Physicians Section is important because it creates a dedicated space for mentorship, leadership development, and advocacy for women in medicine. It allows us to share experiences, address challenges unique to our professional journeys, and support one another's advancement both individually and collectively. Strong physician leadership—especially diverse leadership—ultimately translates into better patient care and a more resilient healthcare system.

What benefits do you get from TMA’s WPS?
The Women Physicians Section has been one of the most impactful professional communities for my career. It has provided not just mentorship, but a space to grow as a leader, to be challenged, and to connect with physicians who are shaping the future of medicine. Through this section, I have gained perspective, confidence, and a stronger voice—tools that extend beyond my own career and into how I advocate for my patients and my colleagues.

What makes this section especially important is its ability to cultivate leadership in a way that is both intentional and empowering. It creates a pipeline of engaged, thoughtful physicians who are not only advancing in their own careers, but also contributing meaningfully to organized medicine and the communities we serve. Investing in women physicians is not just about representation—it is about strengthening the future of healthcare.

Current and previous leadership roles withing TMA and affiliated organizations.
I am also serving as the chair for the Committee on Continuing Education.

What I value most about being a family physician is the privilege of building lifelong relationships with my patients. I celebrate their milestones—improved health, weight loss, growing families—and also have the honor of supporting them through difficult diagnoses and loss. Being that steady presence across all stages of life is what makes this work so meaningful.

Do you have a favorite quote or personal motto?
“Show up. Stay steady. Make a difference.”
