Court Sanctions for Improper Medical Testimony: The Texas Medical Association encourages the Texas Medical Board to utilize court sanctions based on improper medical testimony as grounds for initiating disciplinary procedures against culpable physicians. TMA endorses the concept that any court sanctions based on improper medical testimony should be disclosed in the board’s quarterly publications and Web-based reporting systems. TMA advocates for transparency and disclosure requirements by state licensing boards for physicians who have been sanctioned by Texas courts for violation of medical science ethics (Res. 103-A-06; reaffirmed BOC Rep. 7-A-16).
