Keep Your Account Active in State’s Electronic Death Certification System

June_19_TM_Coverstory_Chart

A sad reality about COVID-19’s resurgence is that it highlights the need for physicians to sign death certificates. And making sure they maintain registration with the state’s Texas Electronic Vital Events Registrar (TxEVER), where deaths must be logged, is a critical requirement of that process.

If you go 90 days without signing in to TxEVER, your account will deactivate, and you must reactivate it.

If this happened to you, the Texas Department of State Health Services has instructions on its website on how to reactivate your account through the system and offers user and training guides for TxEVER. You can also call (888) 963-7111 to have your account reactivated, or if there’s a long hold time, email TxEVER field representatives

Groups of three physicians or more are encouraged to assign a staff member to reactivate accounts for physicians in the group.
