Three Lubbock Physicians Selected for TMA Leadership Roles

May 4, 2022

Three Lubbock physicians have been selected for Texas Medical Association (TMA) leadership positions.

TMA’s House of Delegates, the organization’s policymaking body, reelected an area physician to represent Texas doctors in the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates, and selected members for TMA’s Board of Councilors, the organization’s ethical policymaking body. The TMA house took action at TexMed, the association’s annual conference and expo, held this year in Houston.

Jack C. DuBose, MD, a family physician in practice for 18 years, was confirmed as a councilor on the TMA Board of Councilors. Previously a vice councilor, he filled the councilor vacancy in fall 2021 and physicians confirmed him to continue serving in that role.

Cynthia A. Jumper, MD, an internist and pulmonary diseases specialist in practice for 28 years, was reelected as a delegate to the AMA House of Delegates. Dr. Jumper also was reelected to the TMA Board of Trustees.

E. Steve Robinson, MD, a family physician in practice for 25 years, was confirmed as a vice councilor on the TMA Board of Councilors.

All three physicians are members of the Lubbock County Medical Society.

TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 56,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
