Ask the Expert About: Human Resources Issues During the Pandemic

COVID-19_Holiday_Staff_Morale

The COVID-19 pandemic caused many changes in how practices deliver health care, particularly human resources issues such as sick leave, payroll tax exemptions, and how to keep staff safe.

Although it’s been more than a year since the pandemic began, you might still have questions about rules, regulations, and best practices for managing staff.

Don’t miss the next edition of the Texas Medical Association’s “Ask the Expert” virtual series – Human Resources and Employment Issues in the COVID Era – scheduled for 6 pm (CT) Thursday, April 8.

The free event, which will be held via Zoom, will feature Sheri Williams, TMA associate vice president of human resources; and Laura Goodson, JD, labor and employment law attorney at Austin law firm DeShazo & Nesbitt.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Paid sick leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act;
  • How long employers can take the payroll tax exemption;
  • How to incentivize and/or motivate employees to get vaccinated; and
  • Confidentiality issues regarding vaccines or COVID-19 positive status.

Bring your questions for an interactive Q&A session with our experts following the presentation. Submit your inquiries in advance via email
