Honor a Physician Who’s Helped Residents And Fellows

Do you know a physician who has been an outstanding mentor to residents and fellows? If so, nominate him or her for the J.T. “Lamar” McNew, MD, Award.

The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, March 22. The TMA Resident and Fellow Section will recognize the winning physician during TexMed 2019 in Dallas May 17 and 18.

The award is named for Dr. McNew, a retired Bryan physician who served in the Brazos Valley region for many years providing obstetrical services to Medicaid-enrolled women in the area. He also taught at the Texas A&M Health Science Center for 20 years.

All nominees for the J.T. “Lamar” McNew Award should be Texas Medical Association member physicians who have provided outstanding service to the Resident and Fellow Section.
