Medicine, Business and Community in Action

H-E-B and TMF Health Quality Institute recently committed to continue their multi-year support of TMA’s Be Wise — Immunize program for 2013 and 2014. This is the second two-year investment by these outstanding health leaders. “This is what we mean when we talk about the power of medicine, business and community collaborating to achieve great health for more Texans. We thank them, along with the TMA and TMAA members and community groups who sponsor Be Wise events to protect Texans from serious, yet preventable diseases,” remarked Russell WH Kridel, MD, FACS, president of TMAF.

Both H-E-B and TMF Health Quality Institute are founding funders of the Be Wise—Immunize campaign, which TMA launched in 2004 to increase the state’s ranking as 47th in immunization rates. From 2004 to 2012, Be Wise had administered more than 234,000 vaccinations to nearly 106,000 children at more than 800 community events with the help of its diverse range of community partners, TMA physicians, Alliance members, and medical school students.

TMA Foundation  is seeking additional gifts to ensure these 2013 programs are fully funded. Visit TMAF’s secure donation page if you’d like to make a contribution.
