The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has launched an online vaccine scheduler that allows eligible Texans to sign up for a COVID-19 shot through multiple public health departments, including the eight DSHS public health regions.
As it has done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas Medical Association continues to stress the importance of wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands frequently, and receiving a vaccine when eligible as the most effective ways to stop the disease.
The Texas Medical Board’s (TMB) minimum safe-practice standards are no longer in place, the Texas Medical Association has learned. However, TMB recommends practices continue to follow federal guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
