Recertify in PEMS to Keep Serving Healthy Texas Women

Physicians intending to provide services for the Healthy Texas Women (HTW) program in 2027 must complete certification in the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership’s (TMHP’s) Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31.

Physicians who miss the deadline will lose their HTW certification, and Texas Medicaid will deny all claims for affected services after that date. Participants must verify or update demographic and account information for each location they serve.

Newly enrolling physicians can certify through the Licenses/Certifications/Accreditations page in PEMS. Recertifying physicians will find a letter in the PEMS message dashboard and submit a Maintenance-Licenses request. The HTW attestation appears on the Licenses/Certifications/Accreditations page. Some facilities, such as academic teaching hospitals, standalone labs, and imaging facilities, will not need to be recertified.

For instructions, see  TMHP’s PEMS certification guide and select the Provider Enrollment link in the Topics dropdown menu. For further assistance, please reach out to TMA’s Physician Payment Resource Cente
