As delegates prepare for the Texas Medical Association’s annual policymaking meeting next month, members have until April 12 to submit online testimony on business items to be considered by the House of Delegates (HOD) at TexMed in Dallas, May 2-4.
During the COVID-19 pandemic – when the entire HOD process was conducted virtually – TMA found that taking initial testimony online was an effective way to hear and address concerns early and made permanent that part of the process.
TMA members can review business items in the 2024 Handbook for Delegates and have until April 12 at midnight to submit testimony via an online portal. Reference committees will take online testimony into consideration before publishing their interim reports on April 29.
The committees then will hear additional testimony during live, in-person hearings on May 3, which – new this year – will begin at noon instead of 9 am. The change was made to accommodate the joint opening sessions of TexMed and the House of Delegates.
Final reference committee reports will be published online and distributed during TexMed on May 4.
Find more information on key dates, reports and resolutions, and the online testimony process on TMA's House of Delegates webpage, and be sure to register for TexMed.
