May Owen, MD, Outreach Program Funds Women Physician Programs, Activities

To partner with small and mid-sized county medical societies to provide women physicians with programming and activities at the local level, the Texas Medical Association’s Women Physicians Section has established the May Owen, MD, Outreach Program.

If metro county medical societies are collaborating with surrounding societies on joint events, they also may apply for the program, named after TMA’s first female president and medical pioneer.

The funds can be used to support opportunities for physicians to engage in local networking events, attend presentations, or utilize offerings provided in TMA’s Education Center for a CME watch party. TMA will provide resources to help county medical societies execute a successful event, including branded giveaways for your participants, email invitation templates, event flyers (available upon request), and an event planning timeline and checklist. Learn more and apply.

Plus, if you are a part of the Women Physicians Section or any of TMA’s other sections, don’t miss TMA’s largest annual conference, TexMed, May 2-4 in Dallas. Please visit your section’s webpage for updates and information.
