The unpredictability of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to leave physicians with more questions than answers regarding what the future holds for our patients, practices, and profession.

As part of a commitment to giving Texas physicians the most up-to-date information regarding COVID-19, the Border Health Caucus and the Texas Medical Association will host a Tele-Town Hall meeting on COVID-19 specifically for physicians caring for patients along the border.

Answer your phone at 7 pm (CT), Thursday, Sept. 17, to take part in the Tele-Town Hall meeting.

Hear from Texas physicians and experts who will share updates on expanding access to health care, payment parity for telemedicine, practice viability challenges facing physicians including liability protections, and cross-border initiatives.

Speakers and topics include:

  • Diana Fite, MD, TMA president, on expanding access to health care;
  • Linda Villarreal, MD, TMA president-elect, on telemedicine payment parity;
  • Luis Benavides, MD, Laredo family physician, on liability protections and practice viability;
  • Victor Gonzalez, MD, on the Zoom Along the Border series; and
  • Martha Vela Acosta, MD, U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission, on cross-border initiatives.

The interactive, hour-long event will be moderated by Luis Urrea, MD, chair of the Border Health Caucus, and Dr. Villarreal. It has been accredited for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

And remember, check the TMA COVID-19 Resource Center regularly for up-to-date news and the latest TMA materials for your practice.
