This Saturday: Walk With a Doc Texas Goes Virtual

Virtual_WWAD

For the past several months, Texas physicians have been encouraging their community to stay active and healthy by leading virtual Walk With a Doc events on Saturday mornings.

Join Dallas family physician Amanda Mohammed, MD, at 8 am this Saturday for a virtual walk that will focus on the importance of getting a flu vaccine.

Dr. Mohammed joined Walk With a Doc Texas in June 2019, but since COVID-19 halted in-person walks this year, she wanted to find a way to reengage with her community.

“At every visit I discuss Walk With a Doc and encourage my patients to log on to the Saturday virtual walks,” Dr. Mohammed said. “Not only does walking at least 30 minutes a day help lower the risk of obesity, it also enhances your mental health, blood pressure, and reduces the chance of someone developing diabetes.”

In addition to Dr. Mohammed, TMA physicians Angela Guerra, MD; Rizwan Bukhari, MD; Brenda Vozza, MD; Gina Jetter, MD; Asim Aijaz, MD; Paul McGaha, DO; Mona Dave, MD; Elizabeth Mizelle, MD; and Susan Pike, MD, all have led virtual walks.
