25 Dallas-Area Physicians Start New TMA Leadership Terms

Twenty-five Dallas-area physicians have begun new terms of service in Texas Medical Association (TMA) leadership positions.

TMA leaders elect or appoint TMA physicians and medical students to one of TMA’s 25 boards, councils, and committees. They are responsible for studying health care-related issues and making recommendations on important health care policy affecting Texas patients and their physicians.

Except where noted, all the physicians are members of the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dallas

John T. Carlo, MD, a public health and general preventive medicine specialist in practice for 17 years; appointed chair of the TMA Council on Legislation.

Vella Victoria Chancellor, MD, a gynecologist in practice for 39 years; reappointed as a consultant to TMA’s Committee on Physician Health and Wellness. 

Samuel J. Chantilis, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist in practice for 28 years; reappointed to TMA’s Committee on Reproductive, Women's and Perinatal Health.

Siddharth Dave, MD, an anesthesiologist in practice four years; appointed to the TMA Committee on Emergency Medical Services and Trauma. 

Christopher Sung Jin Chun, MD, an anesthesiologist in practice for 12 years; elected to TMA’s Council on Constitution and Bylaws.

Wendy M. Chung, MD, a pediatric infectious diseases specialist in practice for 16 years; appointed as a consultant to TMA’s Council on Science and Public Health. 

Carolee D. Estelle, MD, an infectious diseases specialist in practice for five years; appointed to TMA’s Committee on Infectious Diseases.

Robert L. Fine, MD, an internist and palliative medicine specialist in practice for 40 years; reappointed as a consultant to TMA’s Council on Health Service Organizations.

Raymond L. Fowler, MD, an emergency physician in practice for 19 years; reelected to TMA’s Council on Health Service Organizations.

Deborah Anne Fuller, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist in practice for 33 years; elected to TMA’s Council on Practice Management Services.

Joseph Maxwell “Max” Hendrix, MD, an anesthesiologist in practice for 11 years; elected to TMA’s Council on Constitution and Bylaws.  

Yolanda R. Lawson, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist in practice for 18 years; appointed to TMA’s Committee on Physician Health and Wellness.

Angela N. Moemeka, MD, a pediatrician in practice for seven years; reappointed to TMA’s Committee on Child and Adolescent Health.

Marcial Oquendo, MD, a pediatrician in practice for five years; elected to the TMA Council on Socioeconomics.

Lee Ann Pearse, MD, a pediatric cardiologist in practice for 35 years; reelected to TMA’s Council on Socioeconomics.

Trish Marie Perl, MD, an infectious diseases specialist in practice for five years; reappointed to TMA’s Committee on Infectious Diseases.

James E. Race, MD, an internist for 33 years; appointed as a consultant to TMA’s Council on Practice Management Services.

Eduardo J. Sanchez, MD, a medical management and public health/prevention specialist in practice for 30 years; reappointed as a consultant to TMA’s Council on Science and Public Health.

Aurelia M. Schmalstieg, MD, an infectious diseases specialist in practice for 12 years; appointed to TMA’s Committee on Infectious Diseases.

Leslie H. Secrest, MD, a psychiatrist in practice for 49 years; reappointed as a consultant to TMA’s Council on Legislation.

Suzanne Yuri Wada, MD, an infectious diseases specialist in practice for 28 years; elected to TMA’s Council on Science and Public Health.

Jim Walton, DO, an internist in practice for 30 years; elected to TMA’s Council on Practice Management Services.

Charles P. Van Duyne, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist in practice for 40 years; elected to the TMA Council on Socioeconomics.

Plano

Keith R. Eppich, MD, a family physician in practice for 18 years; reelected to TMA’s Council on Health Care Quality. Dr. Eppich is a member of the Collin-Fannin County Medical Society.

Lori A. Sedrak, DO, a diagnostic radiologist in practice for seven years; elected to TMA’s Council on Practice Management Services.
