Kate Rogers,
Executive Vice President of The Holdsworth Center in Austin, has been elected
to serve as executive committee member-at-large on the Texas Medical
Association Foundation (TMAF) Board of Trustees. Ms. Rogers will serve a one-year
term on the executive committee, through May 2018.

philanthropic arm of TMA, raises funds to support the population health,
quality of care, and science priority initiatives of the association and the
family of medicine. TMAF raises funds and connects medicine, business, and
community groups that carry out these programs at the local and state levels.
TMA’s Hard Hats
for Little Heads, Be Wise — ImmunizeSM, Walk With a Doc Texas,

foundation also funds local health initiatives through community grants.
The TMAF board
comprises TMA physician members, TMA Alliance members (TMA physicians and
spouses who work on TMA volunteer initiatives like TMA’s outreach programs),
and community leaders.
Mrs. Rogers is executive
vice president of The Holdsworth Center, a non-profit organization founded by H-E-B
CEO and Chairman, Charles Butt, whose mission is to impact the quality of
public education available to Texas students through transformational
leadership development. Prior to joining the Holdsworth team, Mrs. Rogers spent
18 years as an executive with H-E-B, where she oversaw all company initiatives
related to health and wellness. She led H-E-B’s health and wellness task force and
launched its nutrition services program, which educates employees, customers,
and the community on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Mrs. Rogers
also created Read 3, H-E-B’s early childhood literacy program, and is
developing a series of career-themed high schools known as the Centers for
Applied Science and Technology (CAST) to support San Antonio students in
reaching their potential to fill local workforce needs.
Mrs. Rogers graduated
from Texas Christian University with a bachelor of science degree in advertising/public
relations. In addition to serving on the TMAF board, she serves also on the
boards of the Witte Museum, San Antonio Sports Foundation, and SA Works, and she
chaired the 2016 San Antonio Heart & Stroke Walk.

the nation, representing more than 50,000 physician and medical student
members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies
around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of
all Texans. TMA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the association and
