280.031 Methylmercury and Public Health

Methylmercury and Public Health: Women who might become pregnant, are pregnant, or who are breastfeeding should follow state and federal advisories on fish consumption. Because some types of fish are known to have much lower than average levels of methylmercury and can be safely consumed more often and in larger amounts, women should also seek specific consumption recommendations from those authorities regarding locally caught or sold fish (CM-MPH Rep. 7-A-04; amended CSPH Rep. 2-A-14).
