Reimbursement Restrictions for Physician Services Provided in Teaching Situations: The Texas Legislature should provide full funding support to the state's existing accredited medical schools. Residency training programs should be reimbursed through an appropriate mechanism using state appropriated funds to help defray the extraordinary costs of graduate medical education. Nationally, the Texas Medical Association opposes certain restrictions on Medicare and other forms of reimbursement for physician services provided in teaching situations (Council on Medical Education, p 97, I-94; reaffirmed CME Rep. 4-A-04; reaffirmed CME Rep. 2-A-14).
