145.009 Individual Responsibility for Health Care


Individual Responsibility for Health Care: The Texas Medical Association encourages employers, employee groups, and other public policy advocates to work together to design and introduce innovative and cost-effective mechanisms to finance health insurance coverage that could be owned and selected by individuals, flexible for each individual’s and family’s needs, and available as part of or as an alternative to traditional employer-sponsored health plans. TMA is committed to working with business and government to preserve the private sector and to establish an insurance market that is understandable and affordable, as well as portable for individuals (Amended Res. 29X, p 161B, A-98; reaffirmed CSE Rep. 1-A-08; reaffirmed CSE Rep. 1-A-18).
