130.003Solicitation of Patients in Hospitals: Believing the practice is an unethical intrusion on patients and their families when they are vulnerable and least able to make carefully considered decisions, the Texas Medical Association voted to investigate the uninvited solicitation of patients and their families in hospitals by persons representing post-acute care hospitals, legal firms, home nursing agencies, medical vendors, etc., for legal and ethical implications (Committee on Rehabilitation, p 117, I-91; deleted CHSO Rep. 5-A-02).
