The Division of Administrative Services provides the operational resources to support all aspects of association activities. The director ensures adequate resources are available to meet the association's operational needs.

Coordinates preparation of the annual budget.

  • Develops or manages all Internet and Intranet applications for TMA and affiliates

Conference and Association Management Services

  • Conference and meeting management and TexMed
  • Provides executive management services to 20 specialty and professional societies.
  • Staffs Interspecialty Society Committee

Educational Loans, Scholarships, and Awards

  • Manages medical student and resident physician loan programs.
  • Manages the Minority Scholarship Program.
  • Manages Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching.
  • Manages The Physicians Benevolent Fund.
  • Serves as liaison to 50-Year Club.

Physician Health and Rehabilitation

  • Program available to encourage physicians to focus on the health of the caregiver, development of healthy lifestyles that avoid alcohol and other drug abuse, and seek early care for himself/herself and colleagues who experience impairment.
  • Offers Cat. 1 CME/ethics education to physicians regarding prevention of impairment.
  • Manages the PHR Assistance Fund to assist physicians who cannot afford treatment or whose families need help with short-term living expenses.
  • Operates statewide drug screening program for physicians.

Technology Information Systems

  • Provides administrative and financial data-processing services for TMA.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of a long-term office automation strategy for the association.

Membership Operations

  • Maintains member files, including application processing, annual dues billing, and updating of biographical records.

Printing and Mailing

  •  Provides printing, and mailing services for the association. 
  •  Processes requests for computer-generated mailing lists sold by the association.

Property Management

  • Handles management of TMA's 120,000-square-foot office building.
  • Manages tenant relations, negotiation of leases, and building operations.
