Medical Community and Medical Student Community Leadership Grants
The 2020 program is now open.
TMAF is offering multiple deadlines to afford greater flexibility to applicants in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic:
• Deadline July 31/Notification of funding last week of Sept.
• Deadline Aug. 31/Notification of funding last week of Oct.
• Deadline Sept .30/Notification of funding last week of Nov.
• Deadline Nov. 30/Notification of Funding last week of Jan.
Submitting and application is a two-step process. Before an application can be started, each applicant must submit a "Letter of Interest" (LOI) to confirm eligibility for this program. Please allow for at least 48 hours for review of submitted LOI's.

About the Program. Each year TMAF accepts applications from county medical societies, alliance and medical student chapters for community health improvement programs. Society and alliance chapters may apply for up to $7,500 in matching funds from the TMAF Medical Community Grant Program and medical student chapters may apply for up to $3,000 in matching funds from the TMAF Medical Student Community Leadership Grants Program.

About the Award. The Champion of Health Award focuses on exceptional projects that address urgent threats to the public’s health, address TMA science and public health priorities, and further TMAF’s mission: to help physicians create a healthier future for all Texans. Established in 1995, the award has recognized local and statewide programs ranging from access to health care, cancer prevention, childhood obesity, and more. The top winner receives a $7,500 award to be used towards the winning program. TMA Foundation may also recognize a secondary winner with a $3,000 grant.
