If you receive claims payments from UnitedHealthcare (UHC) in paper checks, now is the time to enroll in direct deposit. UHC says it will phase out sending paper checks for payments throughout the remainder of 2020.

If you don’t sign up for direct deposit, you may automatically receive payment by virtual credit cards in place of paper checks. Note that virtual cards typically come with hefty processing fees.

Visit the UnitedHealthcare website for information about enrolling for direct deposit through Optum Pay, about processing virtual credit cards, and about using UHC’s Document Vault to receive correspondence electronically.

If your practice already receives claim payments through direct deposit from Optum Pay, you don’t need to take any action.
