House of Delegates policies in the association's Policy Compendium are reviewed periodically for relevance and appropriateness. The Council on Scientific Affairs concurs with the committee's recommendation that Policy 330.008 be amended as follows:

330.008 Pap Smears: The Texas Medical Association supports programs to educate patients and physicians in the appropriate use of the Pap smear cervical cancer screening (Pap smear) as an effective and efficient cancer screening procedure (Resolution 29N, p198D, I-96).

Recommendation : Approve as mended.
