What is the correct code for billing a routine venipuncture, 36410 or 36415?

Bill routine venipunctures with code 36415. Code 36410 is not considered as "routine" and represents venipunctures "necessitating physician's skill." This does not mean you should use this code each time a physician performs a venipuncture. Bill a routine venipuncture as 36415 regardless of who provides the service.
