Texas Medical Jurisprudence Manual and Companion TMJ Study Guide
Texas Medical Jurisprudence, 17th Edition – 2008 manual by Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP
Texas Medical Jurisprudence Manual is issued by the Texas Medical Association and is a useful study guide and teaching tool for the medical jurisprudence courses taught in Texas medical schools and health care administration programs. The manual is also instructive for recent graduates and out-of-state physicians seeking licensure in Texas who are required to write the medical jurisprudence exam the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners administers.
The manual includes the current licensing and disciplinary provisions for physicians; illegal remuneration statute; new laws concerning mental health, chemical dependency, and rehabilitation treatment; a discussion of the Medicare safe harbors; a discussion of business organizations and managed care issues; material on immigration and naturalization, and a roster of addresses and phone numbers for various health-related agencies and associations have been added as appendices.
The Texas Medical Jurisprudence Manual is available for $169.00 which includes a $10.00 shipping charge.

Texas Medical Jurisprudence Study Guide 2008 and Practice Tests
Also available is the TMJ Study Guide by Lolly Lockhart, PhD, RN. This is the authorized companion to the Texas Medical Jurisprudence Manual and is distributed by the Texas Medical Association. The TMJ Study Guide helps physicians organize their study and final preparation for the medical jurisprudence examination given by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. The TMJ Study Guide is a workbook that follows closely and references the law outlined in the manual. It provides additional explanation and application of selected laws and includes supplemental reading on issues of high priority to the TSBME and three practice tests. The guide's format is fill-in-the blank with manual cites for each question. Once the physician has read the manual, filled in the blanks, and made other notes, the TMJ Study Guide may be used for final review for the examination.
