• 200,000 Helmets and Counting

Texas Medical Association’s Hard Hats for Little Heads program gave away its 200,000th helmet in 2014 during the program’s 20th birthday celebration. A huge thanks to the TMA physicians and medical students, TMA Alliance members, county medical societies, and Texas Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Pediatric Society members who helped TMA reach this milestone by hosting local giveaways.

Let’s keep the momentum going in 2015. You can host an event anytime or during any of the program’s key months: April, Child Safety Month in Texas; May, Bike Month; and October, Hard Hats for Little Heads Month.

TMA provides everything you need for your event, from helmets to publicity and educational materials to media support. For the first 50 helmets you purchase, TMA provides another 50 helmets at no charge. Helmets are $7.60 each, including shipping.

To get involved, contact TMA’s outreach coordinator at tmaoutreachcoordinator@texmed.org, or (800) 880-1300, ext. 1470.

Hard Hats for Little Heads is made possible through a grant from the TMA Foundation thanks to top donors — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Prudential, and two anonymous foundations — and gifts from physicians and their families.
