February 20, 2020 TMA Virtual Meeting

During the Feb. 20, 2020 TMA Virtual Meeting, Michael Darrouzet, Texas Medical Association executive vice president and CEO, introduced himself and Shannon Vogel, TMA director of health information technology and special projects, spoke about Telemedicine in Texas. 

Dr. John Flores from Denton gave an update on the Lone Star Caucus, and Gail Schatte, TMA director of the office of trust fund administration, discussed the TMA Physicians Benevolent Fund.

 Nov. 12, 2019 TMA Virtual Meeting

 

During the Nov. 12, 2019 TMA Virtual Meeting,  Kelly Walla, Texas Medical Association vice president and deputy general counsel discussed Texas’ new surprise billing legislation (Senate Bill 1264 from the 2019 Legislature). Lenore DePagter, DO, gave members an update on the Lone Star Caucus, the caucus that represents the small to medium counties in the TMA House of Delegates; and Sylvia Salazar, TMA associate vice president of membership and leadership development, discussed TMA member benefits.

Aug. 8, 2019 TMA Virtual Meeting 

During the August 8, 2019 TMA Virtual Meeting, Texas Medical Association president, David Fleeger, MD discussed new TMA policy and officers elected at TexMed, TMA’s annual meeting. Darren Whitehurst, TMA vice president of public affairs, gave a recap the 86th Texas legislative session and highlighted TMA’s advocacy wins.
