TMA Foundation is pleased to announce, BLAST OFF!, as the theme for the 24th annual gala, held during TexMed on May 5, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis, Houston!
TMA Foundation presented its 2017 John P. McGovern Champion of Health Awards to two Texas programs that that are creating a "Healthy Now" and a "Healthy Future." This year’s top winner is the “Seed to Soul” – Growing Healthy Families From the Garden to Table, a program of Promise of Peace Gardens, Dallas. The second place winner is the WATCH Champions of Health Award of the Fort Bend Independent School District.
The TMA Foundation recognized 23 Major Donors for their generosity and vision for a healthier Texas at the TMA Winter Conference on Jan. 28 in Austin. These TMA and TMA Alliance members and friends of medicine are distinguished for donating at least $10,000 during their years as a TMAF donor.

Thanks to an unprecedented $3.2M donation from Dr. Roberto J. and Agniela (Annie) M. Bayardo to the TMA Foundation, hundreds of aspiring physicians will receive a TMA scholarship and be named a “Bayardo Scholar.” Their gift establishes a trust fund benefiting medical student recipients of TMA’s Minority Scholarship Program.
