TMA has a number of loan funds available to medical students in Texas. Funds are limited to specific medical schools annually. Please contact your financial aid office directly to see if you qualify.

Physician Assistance Funds
TMA Physician Health and Rehabilitation Assistance Fund
The PHR Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to physicians who cannot afford treatment for depression, Substance Use Disorders, or other problems or whose families need help with short-term living expenses while a physician receives treatment. The fund is designed to assist physicians and their families in need while the physician is not employed because he or she is receiving treatment.

TMA Physicians Benevolent Fund
Each month, the Physicians Benevolent Fund helps Texas physicians and their families in need. The fund helps recipients with rent or mortgage, utilities, insurance, medical bills, clothing, and food. Some recipients are elderly and not practicing medicine, some are disabled or ill, and some are widowed and raising families.
