QPP: Last Day to Elect to Participate in a MIPS Virtual Group for the 2020 MIPS Performance Period
Physicians may participate in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) under the 2020 Quality Payment Program individually, as a group, or in a "virtual group." The virutal option is voluntary and provides solo practitioners and small group practices the ability to band together to form a virtual group for the purposes of MIPS participation. A virtual group is a combination of two or more taxpayer identification numbers (TINs) consisting of solo practitioners who are MIPS-eligible and/or groups that have 10 or fewer clinicians. A group is considered to be a single TIN with more than one clinician. Physicians who wish to participate in MIPS as a virtual group for the 2020 performance period must inform CMS via email at MIPS_VirtualGroups@cms.hhs.gov by Dec. 31, 2019.
12/31/2019
If you plan to participate in a virtual group, you will need to complete an election process. The virtual group must name an official representative who will submit the group's election to CMS via email at MIPS_VirtualGroups@cms.hhs.gov by Dec. 31, 2019.
