The deadline for eligible physicians (EPs) to attest for program year (PY) 2017 is March 16, 2018. Attestation is considered complete after an EP confirms and submits an attestation in the program portal and reaches a “payment pending” or “in review” status. PY 2017 attestations must be submitted by 11:59 pm. March 16, 2018. Appeals based on missed program deadlines will not be considered. Please note that PY 2016 was the final year in which EPs could begin to participate in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. If you have never participated in the program, you are not eligible to participate in PY 2017 or later years.

Participation in the 2017 Medicaid EHR Incentive Program may affect Medicare payments in 2019. Eligible physicians and clinicians who are required to participate in the 2017 Quality Payment Program under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), but chose to continue with the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program must report data to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission by March 16 to avoid a 4-percent pay cut to their 2019 Medicare physician fee schedule payments. If you miss the March 16, 2018, attestation deadline, you will not be eligible to receive the 2019 Medicaid incentive.
