Starting Aug. 16, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) will fulfill COVID-19 vaccine order requests on a new timeline the agency says will allow physicians to receive the vaccine “in a more timely manner.” According to DSHS:
- Minimum pack-size orders of vaccines (450 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 140 of the Moderna vaccine) will be placed through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with a timeline of five to seven calendar days for delivery. If your order is denied, you will receive notification by email.
- Less than minimum pack-size orders will be processed through the state’s shipping vendor, Cold Chain Technologies, with a timeline of seven to 10 calendar days for delivery. Those orders, also known as small-dose orders, will be processed on Tuesdays and Fridays.
DSHS says its Vaccine Shipment Team may call you to confirm your order details if needed. Direct your questions to the department via email.
