How Do Medicaid Managed Care Organizations Affect You?

If you’ve followed the news recently, you’ve probably seen stories highlighting the struggles Texas physicians and patients are having with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).

Forty-five percent of Texas physicians treat patients covered by Medicaid MCOs, according to TMA’s 2016 Physician Survey, so you’re familiar with the “grave but surmountable challenges” Texas’ system faces.

As public debate on Medicaid MCOs continues, the Texas Medical Association is asking you to complete this month’s Physician Survey on how Medicaid and other issues affect your practice.

Every two years, TMA surveys Texas physicians to better understand the day-to-day issues they face. We’ve been continuing that each month in 2018 on a variety of topics.

So check your email inbox for this month’s survey, and let us know about the important care you provide patients. If you have not received a survey and would like to be added to the mailing list, contact Trina Bean, TMA’s health care data analyst, at trina.bean[at]texmed[dot]org.

If you’re looking for even more of an incentive, try this on: If you complete the survey before Wednesday, Aug. 15, you’ll be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate.

But that’s not all.

Physicians who complete every monthly survey in 2018 will be entered to win one of five Apple iPads.
