You already know that the Texas Medical Association is committed to improving the health of all Texans.
But how much do you know about TMA outreach programs that can help not only your patients but everybody in your community?
TMA supports a variety of outreach programs and continuing medical education (CME) to help you care for your whole community, including Walk with a Doc Texas, a grant-funded program that encourages healthy physical activity in people of all ages.
The national grass-roots program is a great way to get people moving and to strengthen relationships with your community. As a benefit of TMA membership, walk grants cover start-up costs and administrative support, ensuring your local program is a walk in the park.
TMA members also have access to free CME (read that again: free CME) on the most effective methods for talking with patients about healthy decision-making.
Learn to create an open dialogue that inspires and empowers patients to take responsibility for their well-being through the course Stimulating Nutrition and Lifestyle Focused Counseling with the Overweight Patient.
Want to hold an event in your community? Learn how to get involved with TMA community outreach efforts here. And remember: These programs are just some of the benefits of TMA membership; there are many more.
