Want to help guide and set Texas health care policy?
Does choosing from 80 hours of free continuing medical education (CME) sound appealing? Did you notice that CME is free?
Want to spend a few days at a resort in San Antonio in May?
I’m sure you answered yes to at least one of these questions. If so, you should register now for the Texas Medical Association’s (TMA’s) annual meeting, TexMed, which is scheduled for May 18 and 19 at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort.
In addition to everything mentioned above, TexMed 2018 will feature a pair of interesting and entertaining keynote speakers:
- Zubin Damania, MD, also known as ZDoggMD, will present “Health Care, Remixed” during the opening general session on Friday, May 18. Dr. Damania is an internist and founder of Turntable Health, an innovative health care startup in Las Vegas. If you haven’t watched one of ZDogg’s many zany musical parodies, or engaged with one of his satire-soaked Facebook Live events, check out his website.
- Gordon Hartman, the Founder of Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio and the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, will present his talk, “You Are Only Disabled in An Environment That Makes You That Way,” at Saturday’s closing general session. Mr. Hartman built Morgan’s Wonderland, an amusement park for people with special needs, after being inspired by his daughter, Morgan, who deals with both physician and cognitive challenges.
There will also be 23 standalone CME programs with more than 100 talks to choose from.
TexMed 2018 will renew your passion for medicine. Registration is open and free to all TMA members and their practice staff. Make sure to take advantage of this valuable TMA benefit and make plans to attend.
More information can be found on the TMA website or by calling the TMA Knowledge Center at (800) 880-7955.
