Managing your practice certainly keeps you busy, and you might not have time to stay up to date with the latest requirements, guidance, and information – particularly for billing and coding.

The Texas Medical Association’s reimbursement specialists understand how quickly information changes, and are here to help with a new webpage that features educational quick tips on a variety of practice help topics.

The page includes newly developed or revised educational sheets, pocket guides, and articles on subjects such as incident-to billing, general billing and coding tips, claims management, and documentation.

It also contains quick reference sheets that are specific to telemedicine billing and coding requirements for Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare. Each sheet illustrates the payer’s requirements for copays, communication, codes, modifiers, and POS codes, as well as links to original sources on the payers’ websites. The charts include each payers’ requirements as of Jan. 1 of this year, as well as the requirements for March through December of last year – during the COVID-19 pandemic.

And be sure to check out TMA’s reimbursement services homepage, where you’ll find other resources such as health plan news updates and ways to contact reimbursement services for assistance.
