  • FDA Issues Emergency Use Authorization for Third Vaccine: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Saturday issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for a vaccine manufactured by the Janssen Pharmaceutical Cos. of Johnson & Johnson. The single-dose vaccine is the third to receive an EUA for the prevention of COVID-19.   • Info Sessions Tomorrow on Janssen Vaccine Set: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host a Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) Call on the Janssen Pharmaceutical vaccine from 1 to 2 pm (CT) Tuesday, March 2. “Clinicians will learn about vaccine characteristics and administration, vaccinating special populations, and contraindications” CDC said.   • More Vaccine Doses Coming to Texas: Another 676,280 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be delivered to 522 facilities across Texas this week, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) said. The state also has ordered 429,600 doses intended as the second dose. Read more information.
