The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented stress for physicians and their families. Worries about keeping yourself, your staff, your families, and your patients safe while caring for an illness that is still largely a mystery can take a toll on your emotional well-being.

Some physicians also have had to ask tough questions about their practice’s finances during the pandemic.

As part of a new series of online enrichment webinars, the Texas Medical Association Alliance is hosting a webinar featuring Valerie Smith, MD, on how to cope with uncertainty during COVID-19.

The webinar is scheduled for noon (CT) Thursday, June 18, and is open to all TMA and TMA Alliance members.

Dr. Smith is a pediatrician from Tyler. Her practice focuses on caring for children in foster care and addressing social determinants of health in clinical and community settings. Dr. Smith co-chairs the TMA Subcommittee on Behavioral Health and is a member of the Council on Science and Public Health and the COVID-19 Task Force.

Register for the free webinar online.

The TMA Committee on Physician Health and Wellness also has tools, resources, CME, and other information to help you cope with the stresses that physicians face.

You can find more tools, resources, and information on the practice viability section of the TMA COVID-19 Resource Center.
