Texas has expanded its newborn screening program and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is offering a free online training course. State health officials say the course will prepare physicians "to deliver timely and appropriate screening for 28 disorders to all newborns in Texas; correctly interpret and act upon the results of the screening; and explain this screening and its results to parents."
You can earn continuing medical education credit by taking the course.
DSHS also offers new brochures and information sheets that can be ordered online or by calling (512) 458-7450.
