Joshua B. Reed, DO, an Abilene family physician in practice for five years, was appointed to serve on the Texas Medical Association’s (TMA’s) Committee on Membership. He will begin his three-year term during the TMA Fall Conference this week. The Membership Committee guides TMA’s and county medical societies’ membership recruitment and retention programs.
TMA member physicians and medical students are appointed or elected to one of TMA’s 25 boards, councils, and committees. They are responsible for studying health care-related issues and making recommendations on important health care policy affecting Texas patients and their physicians.
Dr. Reed is a member of the Big Country County Medical Society.
TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing nearly 53,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
