Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendor Greenway Health has been ordered to offer its clients free upgrades to its latest version of Prime Suite as part of a settlement in a multimillion-dollar fraud case.
Last week, the Department of Justice ordered Greenway to pay $57 million to settle allegations that the company concealed from Drummond Group, its certifying entity, that the 2014 edition of its “Prime Suite” did not fully comply with the requirements for certification, among other charges.
As part of a five-year corporate integrity agreement, Greenway is required to offer clients a free upgrade or convert data to another EHR vendor free of charge.
The Texas Medical Association in January received a complaint from a Texas physician who claimed Greenway had charged him $11,200 to copy patient data onto a disk.
Soon after reaching out to TMA, the physician said the company waived all but $200 in fees.
