Update: Medicaid Seeks Physicians for EHR Program Review

Medicaid reviewThe deadline to apply for a panel that reviews physicians' appeals over Medicaid EHR Incentive Program (meaningful use) payment audits has been extended to mid-April.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is accepting applications for its Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program Audit Ad Hoc Review Panel. The panel reviews documents and makes recommendations on whether HHSC should accept or deny physician appeals of audits associated with Medicaid meaningful use payments.

All recommendations to HHSC are advisory only. Ideal candidates would be familiar with electronic health record systems and the incentive program.

Panel members are appointed to two-year terms and must participate regularly in meetings, which are generally conducted by web or telephone.

On average, panel members commit about two hours per month, depending on the caseload. All positions are voluntary, and members will not be paid for their time.

If you’re interested, complete and submit an application no later than 4 p.m., April 13. The original deadline to apply had been March 15.
