The Texas Medical Association Foundation’s (TMAF’s) support of community public health initiatives around the state got a gigantic boost at TexMed 2022 in April, where TMAF’s 29th annual gala, Crossroads of Culture, raised more than $400,000. But the foundation is still shooting to shatter its all-time annual funding record – and you can help.
Because Houston was the host city of this year’s gala, Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) set a new sponsorship record, totaling $315,250 to secure its receipt of the foundation’s official Brag Bag Award – a black physician’s-bag trophy awarded to the county medical society with the top gala sponsor total. TMAF is also grateful for the funds generated by ticket sales, silent and live auctions, a challenge grant for TMA’s Hard Hats for Little Heads, and another challenge grant campaign in progress – the STAR Campaign.
If you couldn’t attend this year’s gala, the STAR Campaign offers an opportunity to help TMAF break its all-time funding record of $429,272, set in 2018. Contribute to unlock a $10,000 challenge grant from the John P. McGovern Foundation in Houston, and make 2022 TMAF’s most successful fundraising year on record. So far, friends of the foundation have contributed $5,550 to this year’s STAR Campaign, making TMAF just $4,450 shy of its goal. Donate today to help secure the matching funds.
