Five DFW Physicians Selected for TMA Leadership Positions

Five Dallas/Fort Worth physicians were selected to for Texas Medical Association (TMA) leadership positions. The TMA House of Delegates selected the physician leaders today during TexMed, TMA’s annual conference, held in Houston this year.

Four will represent Texas doctors in the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates, the national organization’s policymaking body, and one will serve on the TMA ethical policymaking body.

Dallas
Shania M. Drummond, MD, a Dallas ophthalmologist in practice for 10 years, was confirmed to serve as vice councilor on the TMA Board of Councilors.

Leslie H. Secrest, MD, a Dallas psychiatrist in practice for 50 years, was reelected to serve as an AMA delegate.

Both physicians are members of the Dallas County Medical Society.

Fort Worth
Shanna M. Combs, MD, a Fort Worth obstetrician-gynecologist in practice for 10 years, was reelected to serve as an AMA alternate delegate. She is a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society.

Keller
Gregory M. Fuller, MD
, a Keller family physician in practice for 32 years, was reelected as an AMA delegate. He is a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society.

Little Elm
John G. Flores, MD
, a Little Elm internal medicine physician in practice for 25 years, was reelected as an AMA delegate. He is a member of the Denton County Medical Society.

TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 56,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
